Happy New Year

Hello everyone,

Happy New Year! I hope you have a great 2016. Hario is back open for 2016 and we are looking forward to see you all. Did you have a nice vacation? I hope you got to relax and see your family.

I traveled to the USA to spend Christmas at my brother’s house. The rest of my family also traveled from the UK too. It was lovely to spend time with everyone and enjoy Christmas traditions like eating nice food and exchanging presents. My two young nephews really enjoyed themselves and they got around 90% of the presents. We gathered also to celebrate my father’s 70th birthday. We had a very nice meal in a restaurant.　My brother lives in North Carolina and you can’t fly there directly. I changed flights at Washington DC and, on the way back, spent one day sightseeing around the capital city of the USA. I saw many famous sights like the White House, the Lincoln Memorial and the Washington Monument. I visited a couple of the Smithsonian Museums. They were really amazing. I hope I can go back someday and spend more time there. I really enjoyed my break, and, despite jet lag, I was able to relax and see my family.

あけましておめでとうございます。2016年も皆様にとってよい年になりますよう願っています。Harioイングリッシュスクールも2016年を迎え皆さんに会うのを楽しみに待っていますお正月休みはいかがだったでしょうか？皆さんリラックスし、ご親族の方々とも会えましたでしょうか？

私はお休みの間、アメリカに住む兄の家に行き、クリスマスをそこで過ごしてきました。私以外のグレニー家もイギリスからやってきて皆で集まりました。皆で一緒に時間を過ごしたり、プレゼント交換やおいしい料理を食べるという伝統的なクリスマスを過ごすことができ、とても楽しいひと時となりました私の甥っ子たちは沢山のプレゼントをもらって、とても楽しんでいるようでした。私達が集まったのは父の70歳の誕生日をお祝いする為でもあり、レストランでとてもおいしい料理を頂きました。
私の兄はノースキャロライナに住んでいますが、そこへ行くには直行便がないのでワシントンで乗り換えをしなければなりません。帰りはそのワシントンの観光をして帰ってきましたホワイトハウスやリンカーン記念堂、ワシントンモニュメントなどの有名な観光地をみてきました。スミソニアン博物館にもいってきました。そこにあるものはとても素晴らしいもでした。いつかまた行き、もう少し見る時間をとれればなと思いますお正月休み、家族と会えリラックスでき、いい休みになりました。
