With my first blog of 2023, I want to wish everyone a Happy 2023 and hope everyone enjoyed the new year festivities!

I spent the new year with my wife’s family and wished Mishima Taisha shrine on January 1^st, it was the first time in many years for me, and the first time to go as a family with my wife and son to visit a shrine on the new year, as we haven’t been in Japan at this time of year since my son was born.

 

Before going to the shrine, I had told my son he would need to think of something to wish for when he prayed at the shrine, after when I asked him what he had wished for he told me “A big birthday cake” (His birthday is still a few months away). But I guess it’s a wish that’s possible.

 

 

It was very busy on the day at the shrine and we had to queue from the street, but we all enjoyed the day and I was able to drink Amazake, which had been on my list of things to do since I returned to Japan!

 

After the big changes in my life in 2022, I am really looking forward to this new year and excited to see what it will bring!

2023年初めての私の投稿です。

皆さんにとって23年が幸せな一年になることを祈っております。

 

１月１日は妻の家族と一緒に三島大社に初詣に行ってまいりました。

息子が生まれてからこの時期はいつも日本にはおりませんので、元旦に家族で神社にお参りに行くのは初めてでした。

お参りに行く前に、私は息子に何かお願い事を考えておくよう伝えると、

大きな誕生日ケーキが欲しいとのことでした。（彼の誕生日はまだ少し先なのですがね、、(^^♪）

叶えてあげられる範囲のお願い事だったので良かったです。

 

当日は元旦ということもあり、とても混んでいました。道まで列が伸びていたくらいでしたよ💦💦

家族みんなで1月1日を楽しむことができましたし、日本に帰ったらやるべきことリストに載っていた「甘酒を飲む」という事が達成できました✨✨

 

2022年は私にとっては転機の年でした。

今年はどんな年を過ごすことができるのか、とてもわくわくしています
