Hello everyone,

Our Hario Speech Contest 2025 took place on Monday November 24th, and it was an amazing day for everyone! We started of the contest by decorating the reception area with a big mountain that had photos of all of our contestants climbing it. It was a nice 3D representation of the poster we had been displaying in the run up to the contest. Our students were really excited to find themselves on the mountain. The speeches kicked off with our youngest contestants in the New Star category. I was amazed by the expressiveness of the kids there. It was probably the best display of emotions I have ever seen in this category. Their faces told the full story of the themes of their speeches. They were wonderful performances and made it very difficult to decide a winner. We moved on to the Rising star category and what stood out for me in this category was how much their pronunciation had improved in the run up to the contest. They were loud and clear, which showed their hard work. After that, it was time for the 10th rank activity, which included the “Paprika” song in English, followed by questions for the two Alans. The song went brilliantly! The dancing was perfect from all of the students, and they all sang nice and loudly. Well done to all of our performers. They had some questions to ask Alan and I after that, which was a new activity we had never done before. We moved on to the Super star speeches, and I loved the content of their speeches. They went into great detail about their own beliefs and opinions on a variety of topics. I learned a lot from the content of these speeches. I also learned more about the personalities of our students that aren’t conveyed in classes.  Finally, we had the Legends, who all have lots of experience in the contest. They all knew that this was the top category, and would take a lot of dedication and hard work to make an impact. The rivalry was intense, with many students amazing us one after the other. Whether it was presentation, pronunciation, or both, they all had something that impressed us. It was tough to pick even four winners in the Legends, because I think they were all worthy of a prize. So, well done to all of our contestants! Getting up on stage and performing so well is such a difficult task, but you made us all proud. See you there next year!

みなさん、こんにちは。

2025年11月24日（月・祝）、Harioスピーチコンテスト2025が開催され、参加者・来場者の皆さんにとって素晴らしい一日となりました！

受付エリアには大きな山を飾り、その山を登る出場者全員の写真を貼りました。コンテスト前から掲示していたポスターを立体的に表現したもので、生徒たちは自分の写真を見つけて大喜びでした。

 

コンテストは最年少の「ニュースター」部門から始まりました。子どもたちの表現力には本当に驚かされました。これまでで最も感情豊かなスピーチだったと思います。顔の表情だけでテーマが伝わってくるようで、素晴らしいパフォーマンスばかりでした。審査はとても難しかったです。

 

続いて「ライジングスター」部門では、発音の上達が特に印象的でした。

はっきりと大きな声で話し、努力の成果が伝わってきました。

 

その後は10級のアクティビティとして、英語で「パプリカ」を歌い、2人のアランへの質問コーナーが行われました。歌もダンスも完璧で、みんな元気いっぱいに歌ってくれました。出演者の皆さん、本当にお疲れさまでした質問コーナーは初めての試みでしたが、とても楽しい時間になりました。

 

次は「スーパースター」部門。生徒たちは自分の考えや意見をさまざまなテーマで詳しく語ってくれました。スピーチの内容から多くを学び、普段の授業では見えない生徒の個性を知ることができました。

 

最後は経験豊富な「レジェンド」部門。最上位の部門であることを理解し、強い意気込みと努力で臨んでいました。ライバル同士の競い合いは激しく、次々と素晴らしい発表が続きました。発表力、発音、どちらも見事で、審査員を驚かせてくれました。全員が賞に値するほどで、4名を選ぶのも大変でした。

 

出場者の皆さん、本当にすばらしかった！ステージに立ち、堂々と発表することはとても難しいことですが、皆さんは私たちを誇らしく思わせてくれました。来年もまたお会いしましょう
