Hello everyone,

Have you been watching the World Cup this week? It kicked off last Friday and there have already been some great games. I watched the highlights of the 3-3 thriller between Portugal and Spain. It was an exciting match with a great hat-trick by Ronaldo. I’m looking forward to Japan’s game this evening. The Blue Samurai will face off against Colombia, who are a strong team at the moment. Colombia are ranked 16th in the world now, while Japan are 61st. I hope Japan can pull off a big upset and win the game. Kick-off is at 9PM tonight. Don’t miss it! I have decided to support Japan in this World Cup because Ireland didn’t qualify. I have Japanese family so I want to see them do well. They have a very tough group with Colombia, Poland and Senegal. Poland are ranked 8th in the World! It’s going have to be a great performance to qualify from this group. 90% of Japanese fans don’t think that they will get through the group stage. We’ll just have to wait and see. The last time Japan went to the knockout stages was back in 2010, when they eventually lost to Paraguay in the last 16. Let’s see if they can make it further in the future.

It’s almost the longest day of the year. On June 21st, we will have the most hours of daylight. It is called the summer solstice, and it won’t get dark until about 7:30PM. In Ireland it’s even longer, getting dark at about 9:30PM. It also gets bright at 4AM! So we get very few hours of darkness in June. It’s nice to have long bright days, but then we get the opposite in winter when it gets dark at 3:30PM. You can’t have it both ways and in the end, every country has the same amount of daylight. I’m enjoying the long, warm evenings now.

みなさんこんにちは。

今週のワールドカップは観ていますか？先週の金曜日に開幕し、すでにいい試合が多々ありました。

わたしは３対３というポルトガル対スペインの試合のハイライトをみましたロナルドによるすばらしいハットトリックがあり、わくわくする試合でした今夜の日本戦を楽しみにしています。

青い侍たちは現在強いチームの一つであるコロンビアと対戦する予定です。

コロンビアはいま世界１６位ですが、日本は６１位です日本が大逆転を果たし勝利することを願います。

今夜9時にキックオフですお見逃しなく

今回のワールドカップではアイルランドは予選を通過できなかったため、日本を応援することに決めました。

わたしには日本人の家族がいます。だから日本の選手には活躍して欲しいです。

日本はコロンビア、ポーランド、そしてセネガルというとても厳しいグループにいます。ポーランドは世界第８位です！

このグループを勝ち抜くにはすばらしいパフォーマンスが必要となります。

90パーセントの日本人ファンは、このグループを日本が勝ち抜くことはできないだろうと考えています。

私たちはただ待ち、見守ることしかできません。

前回日本がトーナメントへ進んだのは2010年です。結果的にパラグアイに負け、ベスト16位になれませんでした。

今後彼らがもっと飛躍するかどうか見守りましょう

 

今はおおよそ一年の中で最も日が長い時ですね。６月２１日に日照時間が最も長くなります。夏至と呼ばれています。

午後７時３０分までは暗くなりません。アイルランドではさらに長く、暗くなるのは午後９時３０分です。そして朝４時には明るくなります！

そのため６月には暗い時間がほとんどありません。。日中が長く明るいことは良いのですが、冬にはその逆になります。午後３時３０分には暗くなります。

同じようにすることはできないので、最終的にどの国も同じくらいの日照時間になります。

今は長く暖かい夕方を楽しんでいます。
