What time is the football match?

Hello everyone,

It’s really heating up here in Fuji! The summer humidity hit hard yesterday so I finally put the air-con on in the bedroom last night. Is the rainy season finished yet? I can feel the summer heat creeping in now. It won’t be long until August and the height of summer!

We’re onto the semi-finals of the world cup now. Spain beat France this morning, which is no big shock because both teams have been strong all tournament, but I thought France would win this whole world cup. It’s England versus Argentina in the next semi tomorrow, I have a feeling that England will win that one. All the semi-finals and final are on at 4AM here, which is the absolute worst possible time. I don’t want to get up at 4:00, I would be exhausted for the rest of the day, so I won’t. I’ll have to rely on match highlights the next day. Oh well, the next world cup will take place in Morocco, Spain and Portugal, which has a slightly better time difference, but still about 8 hours. We’ll have to wait and see if I can watch matches live in the distant future of 2030.

Here at Hario this week we are finally beginning to hear the speech homework. It’s only the first few lines, but it’s nice to hear them at last. I’m already impressed by the dedication some of them have had to learning the speech. They really want to give it their best shot this year. Good luck to all of you!

富士も本格的に暑くなってきましたね。

昨日は湿気が一気に強くなって、ついに昨夜は寝室のエアコンをつけました。

もう梅雨は明けたのでしょうか。夏の暑さがじわじわと近づいてきて、8月の本格的な夏ももうすぐですね。

ワールドカップは準決勝に入りました。

今朝はスペインがフランスに勝ちました。どちらも大会を通して強かったので驚きではありませんが、私はフランスが優勝すると思っていたので少し意外でした。明日の準決勝はイングランド対アルゼンチンですが、イングランドが勝つような気がしています。準決勝も決勝も日本では朝4時からで、正直いちばん見づらい時間帯です。4時に起きると一日中疲れてしまうので、私は起きません。翌日のハイライトに頼ることになりそうです。次のワールドカップはモロッコ・スペイン・ポルトガルで開催されるので、時差は少しマシになりますが、それでも8時間ほどあります。2030年の未来で、ライブ観戦できるかどうかはその時になってみないとわかりませんね。
