Hello everyone,

Only 5 days to go! Next Tuesday, the Hario Speech Contest 2021 will take place in Rose Theater. It’s our biggest event of the year and I’m really looking forward to it. We’ve been hard at work to get everything ready for the big day. Of course, our students have been hard at work too. We’ve been doing some speech coaching in preparation. It’s hard enough for the students to remember all of the words to their speech. But that’s not all it takes for a good speech. There are so many other things to take into consideration, such as pronunciation, smile, gestures, intonation, facial expressions, volume, speed, pauses, posture, head movement, enthusiasm, and much more. All of these points need to be done right for the chance to win a trophy. There are so many things that the students have to think about when they get up on the stage. And they have to do all of this in front of 300 strangers. It sounds nerve-wracking! Despite all of this, they always put on a great performance. They have been practicing their speeches for months now, so the hard work is over. It’s time to give one last great recital of your speech and impress your family, classmates, teachers, judges, and all the other parents in the audience. You can do it! See you at Rose on Tuesday, November 23rd.

みなさん、こんにちは。

来週におこなわれるスピーチコンテストまであと５日となりました。今年もロゼシアターで開催されます。

年の中で一番大きなイベントであり、私は毎年コンテストを楽しみにしています

今週は準備に忙しくしていますが、きっと出場する生徒達もでしょう。

スピーチでは色んな要素を考えなければいけません。発音、笑顔、身振り、イントネーション、表現、声のボリューム、体の動き、そして熱意などなど。これらが審査されるカテゴリーにもなります。そして出場者たちは、３００人もの観客の前でこれらをしなければいけません。

大変なことに聞こえますが、それでも毎年、生徒達はすばらしいスピーチを披露します。数か月にも渡って練習をしてきたスピーチはもうすぐ終わりです。そのスピーチで家族、クラスメート、先生、審査員、観客に感銘を与える時がきました。あなたならできる！１１月２３日、ロゼシアターでお待ちしています
