Today I noticed it’s a little cooler than usual. The summer heat is leaving, and soon it will be autumn. The cooler weather was very welcome last Sunday when I went to my daughter’s sport’s day. It was postponed from Saturday because of rain. It seems like every event is postponed these days! It was cloudy on Sunday morning, which was perfect to stand and watch the event. In previous years, it has been sunny, so I had to stand in the blazing sun for hours. It’s hard work! The kids can sit in chairs under a shade while they are waiting, but the parents have to stand and stay close to their children. It’s my daughter’s last year of kindergarten, so they had a relay race between the two senior classes. There are about 20 students in each class, so it’s a long race. Her class started out ahead, but around half-way through, the other class took the lead and held on until the end. It was a very close finish considering it’s a 20 leg relay race. They also did a team gymnastics performance, with many impressive poses and stretches. It reminded me that I should start doing stretches because I don’t think I could do any of what the kids did in their performance! It was a great final kindergarten sport’s day. Next time, she will be in elementary school.

Next week is the silver week holiday. There are two national holidays, Old People’s Day and the Autumnal Equinox. Do you have any plans? It’s difficult to make holiday plans now, of course. Whatever you do, enjoy the holiday!

みなさん、こんにちは。

アランです。

今日はいつもより涼しいですね。猛暑はおさまり、秋がくる気配です。

先週の日曜日は、娘の運動会で涼しい天気でよかったです。雨のために土曜日から日曜日に延期になりました。最近は、すべてのイベントが延期になっていますね。日曜日の朝は曇りで、運動会をみるのには完璧な天気でした。それまでの運動会は晴れすぎていて、何時間も立っているのは地獄でした。子供達は日陰で椅子に座っているのですが、保護者はその子供達の椅子の近くで立っていなければいけません。今年は、娘の最後の運動会で、年長さん２クラスによるリレーがありました。それぞれ２０名の園児がいるので、とても長いレースです。娘のクラスは、最初は差をつけて勝っていましたが、後半抜かれてしまい、結局おしい差で負けてしまいました。それと組体操も披露していました。体が硬い私にはできないような、ポーズを園児たちがしていました。私もストレッチをしなければいけません。とにかく、最後の運動会は素晴らしいものでした。来年は小学校の運動会になります。

来週はシルバーウィークです。敬老の日と秋分の日が月・火でお休みです。皆さん予定はありますか。今の時期は、コロナの影響で休みの予定も立てにくいですが、皆さんよいシルバーウィークをお過ごしください。

ハリオは２１日～２５日まで一週間休校になります。
