Hey, so last Saturday there was a solar eclipse. This is an annular eclipse and has came to be known as the ring of fire. It is called the ring of fire because the Moon passes between the Earth and the Sun, leaving only a thin ring of light .

Annular eclipses happen every year or two and are only visible across a thin area of the planet. The eclipse this year lasted for just under 90 seconds. Still plenty of time for people to take some pictures. Many people did not see the actual eclipse this year, due to bad weather or being too far away. However they did notice the light drain from the day.

 

The next solar eclipse will be on the 14th of December 2020 and it wull be a total eclipse. Meaning the Moon will completely block the Sun’s rays.

先週の土曜日は日食でした。これはリングオブファイヤとして知られていて、月が地球と太陽の間を通りずるときに、細いリングのような光をだすからです。

日食は一年に一度か二度起こるもので、地球上の限られた場所でしかみることができません。今年はたった９０秒でしたが写真を撮るのには十分な長さかもしれません。天気や場所の影響などでほとんどの人が日食をみることができませんでしたが、光が消えていくのは確認ができたかもしれません。

次の日食は１２月１４日で完全な日食になります。完全な日食とは、月が完全に太陽を隠すということです。
