Hello,

 

So we had the first ever Hario English School speech contest on Saturday, and it was a great success all round. It the first speech contest that I had been to so I had nothing to compare it to, but the other staff members here agree that the quality of the speeches this year was the best they had seen. It was great to see the months of hard work that every student put in to their speeches come to fruition. Every single student put on a good show that day, there were no exceptions. I felt so proud of the students that day, and I`m sure their friends and family are especially proud, and they should be. The judges said they had an incredibly difficult time choosing the winners, as the quality of the speeches was so high among all of the students there. I also extend that sentiment to the students that weren`t at the speech contest. We had a tough time choosing which students to send to the contest this year. There were many fantastic speeches that weren`t at the contest, and those students should be proud of themselves and all the hard work that they put in. We also had a great song and dance from the younger students. They looked awesome in their fancy dress costumes, and were very enthusiastic once they got on stage. We also had two special guest junior high school speakers, delivering their award winning speeches. I was blown away by the quality of these speeches both in the delivery and pronunciation. It was easy to see how they had both won awards this year.

And finally this week we welcome our new staff member Yukari to the Hario team. It was an eventful first day for her at the speech contest, and she was very impressed by all the students there. She is settling in very well here and I wish her the best of luck in her career with us. Welcome to Hario!

みなさん、こんにちは。

先週の土曜日は、第１回目のHARIOイングリッシュスクール のスピーチコンテストがありました。

とても素晴らしいコンテストでした。

私にとって初めてのスピーチコンテストだったので、比較することはできませんが、

他のスタッフも言っていましたが、今までで最高にレベルの高いクオリティーの高いスピーチコンテストでした。

これまで生徒達が努力してきた成果を見ることができました。

出場者一人ひとりが最高のスピーチをしました。

私は出場者一人一人を誇らしく思います。また会場にいた出場者のお友達や家族の皆さんも彼らを誇らしくおもったことと思います。審査員達も、レベルが高く、入賞者を決めるのが難しかったと言っていました。

スピーチコンテストへの出場者選抜では、選ばれなくて泣いてしまう生徒さんがいました。

レベルが高く、出場者を選ぶのは、とても難しかったです。しかし、コンテストには行けなかった生徒の皆さんも、ここまでスピーチができな自分に誇りをもってください。

PLS１０級と幼児クラスの皆さんの歌とダンスのパフォーマンスも素晴らしかったですね。

コスチュームも可愛らしくて、ステージではとっても元気なパフォーマンスでした。

そして、今週は新しいスタッフのユカリがHARIOに加わりました。彼女の初日はスピーチコンテストでした。

彼女も皆さんのすばらしいスピーチに感動をしていました。HARIOで一緒に頑張っていきましょう。
