冬支度とスピーチコンテスト準備

Hello everyone,

As winter creeps in, we are taking out the warm clothes and getting the kotatsu ready at home. In Japan everyone has two kinds of bed quilts and clothes, for summer and winter. In Ireland we only have one. It’s always cold at night, so we only use warm blankets in bed. It’s also quite rare for the weather to be warm enough for shorts. So the idea of changing all of our clothes and blankets for winter was new to me when I came here. We don’t have kotatsus in Ireland either, but I think it would be a good idea. It feels nice and warm to relax in during the cold winter days. All houses in Ireland all have central heating, so they are usually warm throughout.

Our speech contest isn’t far away now, only one and a half weeks to go! As part of our preparations we will have a rehearsal for our 10th rank activity this Saturday. When we practice the activity in class, there are only a few students there. However, at the contest, all of our students perform together as a group. That’s why they need to rehearse the songs together and get used being in the larger group. I’m looking forward to seeing them perform on stage at the contest. I hope they sing nice and loudly for us! Preparations are full steam ahead now, don’t miss it on November 19th. Roll on the speech contest 2016!

みなさんこんにちは。

冬が近づいているので、自宅では冬物の衣服やこたつの準備を始めました。日本では、夏用と冬用の2種類の衣類やふとんがあります。しかし、アイルランドでは、夜は1年中寒くなるのでベッドには常に毛布があります。天候も寒く、半ズボンで過ごせるような日は珍しいくらいですなので私が始めて日本に来た時に、衣替えをするという考えはとても新鮮でしたアイルランドにはこたつもありませんが、もしかしたら向こうで使うのもいいかもしれませんね。寒い日にこたつの中でゆっくりとリラックスするのはとても気持ちがいいですからね。こたつの代わりにアイルランドには集中暖房システムがありますから、いつも暖かくはなっていますが

さぁ徐々にスピーチコンテストが近づいてきました。あと1週間半です。今週土曜日には10級、9級のアクティビティに参加してくれる生徒さんの為のリハーサルがあります。クラスの中で曲の練習をしていた時は決して沢山の生徒さんがいたわけではありません。しかしコンテスト当日は、沢山のHARIOの仲間みんな一緒になり、曲を披露します一緒に歌の練習をし、大人数に慣れることが必要になるので、このリハーサルの時間を設けています。皆さんが当日、ステージの上で披露している姿を見るのが、楽しみで仕方ありませんぜひ、大きな声で歌ってほしいと思います。準備もいよいよ大詰めといったところです。皆さん11月19日をお楽しみに！スピーチコンテスト2016、待ち遠しいです
