Hello everyone,

I hope you’re having a good week. If you have a chance, please have a look at the photos from the speech contest and the Christmas party. They are up in the waiting room and corridor and there are some lovely photos.
Recently, I’ve started a new hobby with my wife; bird watching. Last year we saw a comedy movie about bird watching called The Big Year and it looked really fun. Luckily this area is good for bird watching. In Fuji we are near to the sea, the mountains, parks, forests, rivers, marshes, and big lakes. In each of those different areas you can see different birds. I got some binoculars for Christmas and recently I’ve been using them every day. It’s only a 7 minute walk from my apartment to Hario English School but along the way you can see many different species of bird. This morning we saw some Japanese pygmy woodpeckers in Yoshiwara park. They have black and white stripes, like a zebra, and they are very cute. I think it’s an interesting hobby because it makes you look around you and notice new things about that area. Have you started any new hobbies?

今日からスピーチコンテストとクリスマスパーティの写真が廊下に掲示されました。

最近、私と妻は「バードウォッチング」という新しい趣味を始めました。
去年、「The Big Year」という「バードウォッチング」についたコメディー映画をみました。
とても面白い映画でした。富士のこのエリアはバードウォッチングに適した環境です。
海があり、山があり、公園があり、森林、川、沼地、湖などなど。
それぞれの場所で異なる鳥たちをみることができます。
私はクリスマスに双眼鏡をもらいました。最近は、毎日使っています。
HARIOイングリッシュスクールまでは家からあるいて７分ほどですが、それでも異なる鳥たちをみることができます。
今朝は、吉原公園で小さなきつつきに出会いました。しまうまのように白黒で、とてもかわいいです。バードウォッチングは面白い趣味です。つねに周りをみるようになり、新しい発見をすることができます。皆さんは、なにか新しい趣味を始めましたか。
