Hello everyone,

Batten down the hatches! A typhoon is coming! That`s what people were saying earlier this week. The typhoon arrived this morning (Wednesday), and it rained. That was it. As I write this the rain has stopped and the sun has come out. It`s a beautiful day now. Yet, most of the schools in Fuji are closed today because of the rain this morning. As with most typhoons that hit Japan, by the time it reached Fuji, it had slowed down and just hit us with some rain. So there wasn`t any weather drama here. But it was a reminder that summer is on the way, and there will be more to come.

Thankfully the typhoon waited until after Sunday because that was Hario`s Big Day Out and we had an amazing day! Over 30 students joined us at Fuji station where we all took the train to Higashi Shizuoka. Many of our students don`t ride the train very often, so it was a big adventure for them. We had lunch in the park outside the station and then took the bus to Nihondaira zoo. At the zoo, we enjoyed seeing the animals and playing bingo. They were so excited to find all the animals they needed to get a bingo! I asked around to see what students` favorite animals were. The lesser panda, polar bear, lions and tigers were the most popular, of course. After the zoo, we went back to the park for some refreshments and play time. Our students really enjoyed playing with water pistols and frisbees until it was time to take the train back to Fuji. Everyone was tired by the end of the trip, but happy. We had a really special day out. Thanks to all of the students who came out with us. Check our instagram in the near future to see how our day went!

こんにちは、みなさん。

「台風が来るぞ！しっかり備えて」——今週の初め、人々はそんなふうに言っていました。

台風は今朝（水曜日）に到着し、雨が降りました。以上です

今これを書いている時点では雨も止み、太陽が出ています。とても良い天気です。

それでも、今朝の雨のせいで富士市の多くの学校は今日は休校になりました。

日本に来る台風の多くがそうであるように、富士に到達する頃には勢力が弱まり、雨が降る程度で済みました。

特に大きな天候のドラマはありませんでした。

でも、夏が近づいていること、そしてこれからもっと台風が来ることを思い出させる出来事でした。

 

幸いなことに、台風は日曜日の後まで待ってくれました。

というのも、その日は Hario のビッグデイアウト（遠足） があり、最高の一日になったからです

富士駅には30人以上の生徒が集まり、みんなで東静岡まで電車で向かいました。

電車にあまり乗らない生徒も多く、大冒険でした。

駅前の公園で昼食をとり、その後バスで日本平動物園へ向かいました。

動物園では動物を見たり、HARIOオリジナルの動物ビンゴをしたりして楽しみました。

ビンゴに必要な動物を見つけるたびに、生徒たちは大喜びでした。

好きな動物を聞いてみると、レッサーパンダ、ホッキョクグマ、ライオン、トラが人気でした。

動物園の後は再び公園に戻り、おやつを食べたり遊んだりしました。

水鉄砲やフリスビーで遊ぶのがとても楽しかったようです。その後、電車で富士に戻りました。

帰る頃にはみんな疲れていましたが、とても満足そうでした。

本当に特別な一日になりました。
