Come on into to Hario to see our Christmas trees! The decorations are finally up, and it feels like the festive season now. How many Christmas trees can you find? There are many little ones hidden all over Hario! I noticed that Christmas trees are popping up all over Fuji. Some shops and businesses have had trees up since the end of Halloween. I saw one cafe that had a tree full of Halloween decorations in October. They only need to switch the decorations on the tree over to the Christmas ones. Why do people put trees in their houses at this time of year? This tradition started almost 500 years ago, so there are many different stories of how it began around Europe. By 1800, it had become common for people to decorate the trees with ornaments and lights to celebrate Christmas. Now it has spread all over the world, and people compete to have the biggest tree or the most Christmas lights. The biggest trees are reserved for public areas in big cities. There is a famously huge tree outside the Rockerfeller Centre in New York every year, where people can go ice-skating. The biggest Christmas tree in the world this year is in Oklahoma, U.S.A. and it’s 42 meters tall. Check out the photo, it’s huge! In Ireland, my family used to buy a tree every Christmas, about 2 meters high. The pine smell reminds me of the season. When we got older we switched to an artificial tree. It’s a lot easier to set up and put away. Which kind of Christmas tree do you prefer?

クリスマスを感じます。みなさんは、いくつのクリスマスツリーをみましたか。いろんなところに小さなツリーが隠れていますよ。

ハリオだけでなく、街にはクリスマスツリーがかざられています。ある場所では、ハロウィンの後にもう飾られていました。

あるカフェでは、10月にハロウィンの飾りがいっぱいの木がありました。木の装飾をクリスマスのものに切り替えるだけでクリスマスの飾りになります。

ところで、なぜ人々はこの時期に家にツリーを飾るのでしょうかこの伝統は約500年前に始まったので、どのように始まったかについてはさまざまな話があります。 1800年までに、人々はクリスマスを祝うために装飾品やライトでツリーを飾ることが一般的になりました。

今では、その伝統は世界中に広がり、人々はツリーやクリスマスライトの大きさを競いあうようになりました。世界最大のクリスマスツリーは米国オクラホマ州にあり、高さは42メートルです。写真をチェックしてください！巨大です！

アイルランドでは、私の家族は毎年クリスマスに高さ約2メートルの木を購入していました。松の香りが季節を思い出させてくれます。

子供達が大きくなると、飾るツリーは人工の物に切り替えました。セットアップと片付けがはるかに簡単です。皆さんはどんなクリスマスツリーが好きですか
