Getting into the Christmas Spirit

Hello everyone,

It’s December already! Can you believe how fast this year has flown by? It seems to come along sooner every year. They say that the older you get, the quicker the years fly by. Now that Halloween and the Speech contest are over, it’s time to look forward to Christmas. We have plenty of Christmas fun and games to play in class all through the month.

To get into the festive spirit we put up our Christmas tree at home and went to the illumination in Gotemba last weekend. Actually, we put the tree up in November because my wife and daughter enjoy it so much. At the illumination event there are tunnels full of lights to walk through and some giant light sculptures. It’s very impressive, I’ve never seen so many lights! There was a fountain show where the water fountains play along with music. There are many fountains, one is super-powered and shoots water 150 meters high! There’s a great restaurant there too, which I really recommend. They brew their own beer at this restaurant and have delicious meat dishes to share as a family. It all feels very Christmassy and I think it’s a great way to start the season. もう１２月ですね。時が経つのは速いです。年々速くなるような気がしますが、それは年をとった証拠かもしれません。

ハロウィンが終わり、スピーチコンテストが終わり、次の楽しみは、やはりクリスマスです。

クリスマスムードを高めるために、家ではクリスマスツリーを飾り、先週末は御殿場のイルミネーションを見に行きました。

クリスマスツリーは、実は１１月にはもう飾られていました。娘は妻が興奮を抑えられなかったからです。

イルミネーションでは、ライトで彩られたトンネルを歩きました。大きな光の彫刻がとても綺麗だったです。あんなたくさんのライトは見た事がありません。他にも噴水のショーがあり、１５０Mの高さまで飛んでいました。そこにあるレストランもお勧めです。醸造するビールとお肉が最高でした。クリスマスを堪能できました。皆さんは、クリスマスに何をしますか
