Each year on this day, people in the UK play practical jokes, trying to fool their coworkers and friends.

These days, we see it even more in the media. Companies of all types try to get in on the joke by posting about unbelievable or hilarious new products. You should never fall for them! Most people even stay off the internet for the day so they aren’t tricked into believing something that isn’t true.

In the UK, we have one unique rule about the day! We must only play pranks in the morning. After midday, all the fun must stop! If you pull a prank after noon, you are the fool!

毎年この日になると、イギリスでは人々が同僚や友だちをだまそうとして、ちょっとしたいたずらを仕掛けます。

最近では、メディアでもよく見かけるようになりました。 いろいろな企業が「ありえない新商品」や「思わず笑ってしまう発表」を投稿して、ジョークに参加してくるのです。

でも、絶対に信じてはいけません。 中には、だまされないようにその日はインターネットから離れる人もいるほどです。

 

イギリスには、この日に関するユニークなルールがひとつあります。

いたずらをしていいのは午前中だけ。

正午を過ぎたら、すべてのジョークは終了。 もし午後にいたずらを仕掛けたら、だます側のあなたが“フール（ばか）” になってしまいます。

 

４月１日に、SNSで「これはひどい！」という投稿を見かけましたか。だまされてしまった人はいましたか。
