Hi everyone,
How are you all? In 2 days we have the biggest event of the year for our school. The speech contest will take place at La Hall, in Fuji, on Saturday. I’ll see many of you there. I know the students taking part have been practicing hard for many months now on their speeches. We’re just making the final preparations now and looking forward to what should be a fun event and a good showcase for our school and, more importantly, our students’ English ability. There’ll be 40 speeches about all sorts of subjects, from future dreams to starting school, Jackie Chan to jungle tag, Mt Fuji to dodge ball and many more. Also, you’ll hear two special speeches from junior high school students of ours. They competed and won prizes at the city and regional speech contests. Our very young students have a song and dance performance with a bear (or is it a tanuki?). We’ve made introduction movies and there will be a prize quiz as well for the audience. We finish by choosing prizewinners. All in just under 3 hours.

みなさん、こんにちは。
ご機嫌いかがですか。HARIOイングリッシュスクールの一大イベントである「スピーチコンテスト」まで、あと２日となりました。
スピーチコンテストは、土曜日にラ・ホール富士で開催されます。
会場でたくさんの皆さんにお会いするでしょう。
参加する生徒の皆さんは、練習にはげんでいますね。我々スタッフは、準備も終盤となりました。
今年、コンテストに選ばれたスピーチは４０人で、題材もそれぞれです。
将来の夢、初めての小学校、ジャッキーチェン、ジャングルジムおにごっこ、富士山、ドッジボールなどなど。
また今年は、中学生２人のスペシャルスピーチもあります。小さい生徒さん達による、歌とダンスのパフォーマンス
も毎年恒例です。HARIOイングリッシュスクールと出場者の紹介映画、クイズコーナーもコンテストの中で行います。そして最後に入賞者が決定します。会は３時間を予定しています。
