Hello,

It`s finally here, the first Hario English School Speech Contest! This Saturday our students will showcase their English talents to our panel of judges, and some of them will be winning a ticket to Disneyland. We are busy this week with preparations, there are many things to consider when planning show like this. It`s my first time to be involved in a big event so I`m learning a lot about putting together such a show. We have had rehearsals, decorations, videos and music among other things to prepare. We are very grateful that some of our students will also be helping on the day. We have four guest judges coming to decide who goes to Disneyland. Keep an eye out for our judges, you may recognize one of them. We have a song and dance show from our 10th rank and kindergarten students, I`m impressed with how well they have learned the lyrics to the songs. We will have the speeches selected from across the ranks, and also two special guest speeches from our junior high school students. All in all it should be a fantastic day of fun for everyone, friends and family alike. I hope you enjoy it, see you there!

みなさん、こんにちは。
とうとうやってきました。第１回HARIOイングリッシュスクールの
スピーチコンテストがやってきます。
今週の土曜日、出場者の生徒達は、彼らの英語のスピーチの成果を審査員や観客の皆さんに披露するのです。そして、優勝者には「ディズニーランド」のチケットが贈呈されるのです。
今週は、スタッフ全員が準備に忙しくしています。
このような大きなイベントでは、準備すること、計画することがたくさんあるのです。
こんなに大きなイベントに参加するのは、私にとって初めてのことで、準備からとても勉強になります。
先週の土曜日にはリハーサルを行い、今は、会場のデコレーションや上映するビデオや音楽、印刷物等の準備に忙しいです。
コンテスト当日は、生徒の何人かんも手伝ってくれるようで、とっても助かります。
今年は外国人の審査員を４人よんでいます。彼らがディズニーランドを手にする人を審査します。審査員４人のうち、１人は皆さんが知っている人ですよ。
また、１０級＆幼児クラスの歌とダンスの発表があります。彼らが英語の歌詞を覚えて歌えるようになっているので驚きです。
スピーチコンテストは４つのランクがあります。また今年は２人の中学生によるスペシャルスピーチがあります。きっと皆さんにとって、ご家族や観客のみなさんにとっても、すばらしい「スピーチコンテスト」になると思います。皆さん、楽しんでくださいね。
