How are you? It’s peak typhoon season so please take care out there. Happy birthday to Yui from earlier this week. I hope you have a great year ahead. I enjoyed eating two birthday cakes on Monday! This weekend also marks the 3rd anniversary of Hario English School. I hope there are many anniversaries to come!

 There’s a lot of sport going on at the moment. First, congratulations to Kei Nishikori. He beat Andy Murray (of the UK) to progress to the semi-finals of the US Open Tennis. Murray had beaten Nishikori last month at the Olympics and has a good record against Kei so it was a great result. I hope he can go on to win the tournament and create history for Japanese tennis.

 Earlier this morning, the Rio Paralympics Opening Ceremony took place. I really enjoyed the Olympics last month. Not only was there great success for Great Britain, Japan and even Ireland, it was inspiring to see great athletes from every country and the sport was gripping. It made me want to visit Brazil. The Paralympics should be just as exciting. Seeing people overcome disabilities as well as other challenges to become elite athletes is inspiring. Paralympic triathlon is making its debut. I’m looking forward to that and watching many events. I’ll update the medal table in Hario as well! Are you going to watch?
