How are you this week? We had new air-conditioners installed in my classroom and Sachiyo’s classroom yesterday. My old one had lasted a long time. Thank you for your service, old air-conditioner. The new one is smaller, quieter, more energy efficient and mounted on the ceiling. It has made a big difference to my classroom and I hope it makes the classroom a little bit more comfortable for our students.
The main news from this week is that 4 of us Hario teachers attended the PLS annual convention. Like I said in last week’s post, it was hosted by a PLS sister school in Mishima this year. It was a great chance to meet with the PLS head office staff and sister school teachers. It was very nice to see familiar faces and meet new teacher’s for the first time too. As well as speeches and presentations, there was the chance to see two model demonstration lessons of PLS classes. There was a lot of good practice teaching activities to see and I’m sure we can apply much of it to Hario’s classes. In particular, the teaching of pronunciation on display was very good. One thing that comes across speaking with PLS staff and sister schools is the level of professionalism, commitment and passion for education that they share. I know we feel the same way too at Hario and we’re always trying to do our best for each student.
Thanks for reading. Have a great week.
