Golden Week back home ゴールデンウィークから戻って

Hello everyone,

I hope you’re all well rested and had an enjoyable Golden Week. I had a great time back in my home country of Ireland. I arrived back in Fuji last Sunday morning, so the jet lag has worn off by now. It was my daughters first time in Ireland. She’s almost two years old now, so I’m not sure how much she will remember, but I was glad to introduce her to our beautiful country. I landed in Ireland on May 1st, and the next day was a public holiday. There was a good atmosphere in Dublin City because everyone had a day off work. During the week we visited the zoo. Midoriko is a big fan of animals, but she asked us to stay away from the tigers because they were scary. We also went to the “Japanese Garden”, just south of Dublin. It’s a beautiful park that’s design is inspired by Japan. It has sakura trees and a small temple. I recommend visiting there if you ever go to Ireland. It feels like a little part of Japan.

I noticed that some things have changed in Ireland, but most things had stayed the same. The biggest change is in Ireland’s economy. When I left Ireland three years ago, the economy was in dire straits. Unemployment was high, and there were many companies going out of business. Now, however, the economy is booming again. Ireland is one of the fastest growing economies in Europe at the moment. It’s great to see the country getting back on its feet again. I’m looking forward to see what changes await on our next visit to the “Emerald Isle”.

みなさんこんにちは。

ゴールデンウィークはいかがでしたか良く休めましたでしょうか私は故郷のアイルランドに戻り、とてもいい時間を過ごすことができました。富士に戻ってきたのは日曜の朝方でしたので今ではもう時差ボケはなくなりました。今回は娘の”初めてのアイルランド”でした。まだもうすぐで2歳という年齢なのでこの先、どのくらい覚えているかわかりませんが、美しいアイルランドを見せることができてとても嬉しく思います
5月1日にアイルランドに到着し、翌日2日はアイルランドは祝日でした。その為、ダブリンの街はとてもゆったりしたいい雰囲気でしたその週には私たちは動物園に行きました。娘のみどりこは動物が大好きです。しかしトラの前は怖いから離れたいという仕草をしていました。それとダブリンの南にある”日本庭園”を見てきました。日本の庭のデザインをモチーフにした公園です。そこには桜の木や、小さなお寺もあります。もし今後、皆さんがアイルランドに行く機会があれば私は是非ともこの公園をお勧めしたいです

”小さな日本”という雰囲気がします。

アイルランドでは少し変わったなと感じる事もありましたが、ほとんど前と同じでした。最大の変化はアイルランドの経済です。私が3年前にアイルランドを去る時、経済はとてもひどい状況にありましたその当時は失業率も高く、倒産する会社も沢山ありました。しかし今では、アイルランドの経済は再び活気づいています。現在ヨーロッパで一番早く成長しているのではないでしょうか。自分の出身国が再び経済を立て直してくれて良かったと感じています
