How are you doing? Next week is Golden week. Do you have any plans? I’m going to go to Nagano and see my in-laws and some friends up there. I hope the weather is nice. If you have to work, study or go to club activities next week, I hope you find at least a little free time to relax and maybe go somewhere.

Like every year at Hario, this is the time we start the speech homework process.

Our students have been given manuscripts to write their speeches (in Japanese). You have about a month and our younger students can get their parents to help them craft it. We will then translate them all into level appropriate, English speeches and it will be a homework activity for about 3 months. It ends with performances of the speeches in front of parents in class and we have annual speech contest as well.

I’m looking forward to reading them. There are always unexpected and interesting topics and I enjoy finding out about our students interests, dreams and lives outside of Hario. Good luck writing, everyone!

お元気ですか来週はゴールデンウィークですが何か予定はありますか？私は長野に行き、義理の家族や友人に会ってくる予定です。天気が良いと嬉しいのですが。お仕事だったり、勉強、クラブ活動などがある場合でも、少しの時間でも自由な時間を見つけどこかに行ったりリラックスできるといいですね

Harioでは毎年恒例のスピーチホームワークの準備が始まりました。PLS8級以上の生徒さんには、スピーチの題材となる作文を書く為の原稿用紙が配られています。締切までは約1ヶ月ありますので小さなお子様は親御様のお手伝いをお願いし、完成させて頂ければと思います。そして日本語で書かれたそれらの作文が各生徒さんのレベルに合わせた英語に翻訳され、その英語のスピーチが約3ヶ月間の宿題として使用されるのです。そして最後は授業参観にてクラスの中で親御様の前でスピーチをしますそれと同時に1年に1度のスピーチコンテストも開催されます。どのような作文を書いてくれるのか、とても楽しみにしています。毎回、予期もしないようなおもしろい題材の作文があり、私は皆さんがどのような事に興味があり、どんな夢を持っていて、Harioの外ではどんな生活をしているのかを知ることができるのが凄く楽しいですみんな、頑張って書いてね
