Golden week is almost here! It begins this Friday with “Showa Day”, followed by “Constitution Day”, “Green Day”, and finally “Children’s Day” next week. These four days in a row mean that it gets very busy when travelling around Japan. Sometimes the motorways have large traffic jams and the airports become extremely busy. I’ll be travelling this Saturday! I’m a little anxious about how busy it will be, but hopefully I can make it to Narita Airport and travel to Ireland without any delays. At this time of year,
Ireland’s weather usually gets warmer. This year however, it hasn’t happened yet. It was quite cold this week (about 13 degrees) and there were even some hail showers! I hope it warms up a little by the time I get there. I’m really looking forward to catching up with my friends and family back home. My wife and daughter are already there having travelled last week. My parents are having a great time with their grand-daughter. We’re planning to visit Dublin Zoo if the weather holds up. I’m not sure how much she will remember, but I’ll show her around her father’s home city.
At Hario this week we are giving our students the sheets to write their speeches. They have the holiday to think up an interesting topic for the speech. I’m looking forward to seeing what they write about. Have a great Golden Week everyone, see you in two weeks!
