Hello everyone,

Halloween is just around the corner! We will celebrate the last week of October by dressing up in scary (or silly) costumes. Is yours ready yet? We are hoping to see our students in imaginative costumes this year. I want to see lots of frightening or funny characters!

Good luck to Japan in the Rugby World Cup this weekend in the final games of the group stage. They put on a great performance to beat Samoa last weekend, and will face the U.S.A. next. Japan are expected to beat the U.S.A., but they rely on Samoa to win against Scotland for a chance to reach the quarter finals. I hope Samoa can do it, but Scotland have looked like the stronger team so far. There was a big shock this week as England were knocked out of the World Cup after losing to both Wales and Australia. It was a tough group, but England were disappointed as they are a highly ranked team and the host nation. Ireland have already qualified for the quarter finals. Their final group stage game is against France, who have also qualified. They won’t go easy on each other, however, because the losing team will probably face New Zealand in the quarter final. New Zealand are the number one team in the world rankings and favourites to win the whole tournament.

Good luck also to our students who are taking the Eiken test this weekend. They always put a lot of work into these exams and I believe they will do well.

みなさんこんにちは。

ハロウィンがもうすぐやって来ます。10月の最終週は怖い（又はちょっとふざけた）仮装をして祝います。皆さんのコスチュームは準備できましたか今年もびっくりするようなイマジネーションにあふれた衣装を期待しています。沢山の怖いキャラクター、おもしろいキャラクターに会えるのを楽しみにしています。

ラグビーワールドカップでは日本は今週末、グループステージ最後の試合を迎えますね。先週末はサモアを撃破し素晴らしいパフォーマンスを見せてくれました。そして次回はアメリカと対戦します。まず日本にとってはアメリカに勝たなければいけませんそしてサモアがスコットランドに勝利してくれなければいけないという条件があります。

それらをクリアし準々決勝に進めるということになります。

サモアはスコットランドを倒せる力があると思いますが、スコットランドの方が今の所強そうな感じです今週、イングランドがウェールズとオーストラリアに負け、予選敗退という大きなニュースが入ってきました。難しいグループであったと思いますが、ホスト国として、ランキング上位に位置するチームとして、落胆していると思います。アイルランドは既に準々決勝進出を決めており、予選最後の試合ではこちらも既に予選を勝ち抜いたフランスと対戦します。しかし消化試合という感じはありません。なぜならその試合を落としたチームは準々決勝でニュージーランドと顔を合わせる確率が高いからです。ニュージーランドは世界1位にランクされており、今大会の優勝候補なんです
