A fantastic camping weekend 楽しかったキャンプ

Hello everyone,

Hario camp 2015 took place last weekend, and it was a great success! We all had a wonderful time in Asagiri. The weather was a bit unpredictable on Saturday. It was cloudy at first, then rainy, then misty, and finally nice and clear. The weather didn`t dampen any spirits however, and the kids seemed to enjoy every minute. We had everyone occupied with many fun activities throughout the day. First we played the keyword game, then “skin the snake”, followed by an exploration game to find where photos were taken from. This gave the students an opportunity to explore the area and see all of the interesting points around the site. After that we played “Jungle dover patrol”, where the kids find animal cards around the park. It was time for dinner after that. We made a barbeque using firewood, and cooked big pots of curry and rice, accompanied by salad. The kids really enjoyed making a big meal for everyone, and they all played a part in the dinner preparation. We were all hungry after all of the activities, so thankfully the curry was delicious! After dinner we played “night stamp rally bingo”. Everyone brought torches and went out to find question cards hidden around the site. It was misty then, so the forest looked spooky! To wind down at the end of the day we had a camp fire, which everyone sat around and we roasted marshmallows and sang songs, accompanied by Yuka`s guitar playing. Good times! Sometimes it`s difficult to sleep in a tent, but everyone was so tired from all the fun I think most of us slept quite well that night. We were up at the crack of dawn, around 4:50, just in time to see the sun rise near Mount Fuji. It was a fantastic site to see. We played some more games and then prepared breakfast. We cooked up a hearty breakfast of bacon, eggs, and toast, with soup and fruit. Yummy! For the final activity of the camp we met some special guests. Grandpa Mario, Hario, Luigi and Toad came to ask for help to find Grandpa`s turnip. The kids split up in to teams to find the map leading to the turnip. But there was danger in the form of Bowser! He was scary and tried to take Grandpa`s turnip. But Hario came to the rescue and scared Bowser off with fireballs.

After all of the excitement everyone was understandably tired. They went home that afternoon with wonderful memories. I`m looking forward to the next camp already!

みなさん、こんにちは。

2015年Hario イングリッシュキャンプが先週行われ、大成功に終わることができましたみな楽しい時間を過ごせたことと思います。天候は少し気まぐれでした。最初は曇りだったのですが、雨が降り、霧が出てきて最終的にはすっきりとした天候になりましたしかし雨だからといってもがっかりする事もなく、生徒の皆さんは雨でもアクティビティを楽しんでいるようでした。

キャンプの最中、常に面白いアクティビティを用意し、皆さんに楽しんでもらいました。

最初は”キーワードゲーム”、そして”スキン・ザ・スネーク”ゲーム、それから施設内で撮られた写真の場所を見つける探検ゲーム。この探索ゲームで生徒の皆さんは施設内を探索し、いろいろなポイントを見て回りましたその後はそれぞれ配られた動物のカードで相手チームと対戦し、ポイントを競い合う”ジャングルパトロール”ゲームをしました。

そして夕食の支度となりました。薪を使って火をお越し、大きなポットにカレーとご飯を作り、サラダを添えました生徒の皆さんはそれぞれが決められた役割を果たし、料理を作るのを楽しんでいる様子でした沢山のアクティビティの後の為、私達は凄くお腹が空いていたので、カレーをとても美味しく頂くことができました

夕食の後は”ナイトスタンプラリービンゴ”の時間です。皆、懐中電灯を持ち出し、サイト内に隠されている質問のカードを探しに行きました。その時は少し霧が出ていましたので、森は少し不気味な感じでした

初日の最後には皆で輪になりキャンプファイアーをしました。そのキャンプファイアーでマシュマロを炙って食べたり、Yuka先生のギターに合わせて歌ったり、楽しい時間を過ごしました。

よくテントでは寝れない時がありますが、楽しかったのでほとんどの生徒さんは夜は良く寝れたのではないでしょうか

翌日は夜明けとともに起床しました4時50分くらいでしょうか。富士山に近くから日の出が見られるちょうどいい時間帯でした。早朝から鬼ごっこなどをし、朝食の準備に取り掛かりました。ベーコン、スクランブルエッグ、パンにスープとボリュームのある朝ごはんを作りましたキャンプ最後のアクティビティではスペシャルゲストが登場しました。グランパマリオ、ハリオ、ルイージ、キノピオがグランパマリオのカブを見つけるのを手伝ってほしいとお願いしに来たのです生徒さん達はそれぞれチームに分かれてカブを見つける手掛かりになる地図を探しに出掛けました。しかしその道中にはクッパという危険な存在が・・・彼もまたグランパマリオのカブを狙っていました。しかし最後にはハリオがファイアーボールでクッパを追い払ってくれたのでした
