I’m singin’ in the rain　雨に歌えば

Hello everyone,

How’re things with you? As you may be aware, this weekend is Hario English Camp. It was my idea to do one and we tried it for the first time last year. I was really pleased that the students and staff shared my enthusiasm and we had a great time. After the success of last year, we’re doing another one. With one year’s experience, I think this year will be even better. This time, it’s at Asagiri Outdoor Centre and we’ll be sleeping in tents! We’ll have a true camping experience, and the students will get to try cooking on a wood fire, chopping wood, making a campfire and singing round it and lots more. There are lots of fun English activities and the students have a chance to use English outside the classroom and make new friends. I’m really looking forward to it.

There’s a chance of rain during the camp. Not to worry, because we have a plan for rain and for sunny weather. Most of the activities can also be done indoors. We have some extra activities for indoors too, just in case. The center has lots of indoor space and we’re the only people using the center this weekend. If there’s light rain, we can do outdoor activities anyway. Last month, I ran the Sakura marathon in Nihondaira. It rained, I got a little wet but had a nice time, nonetheless. The UK has famously bad weather so we have a culture of making the most of things even in bad weather. I think this is a good trait to have. So, don’t worry about the rain. The camp will be lots of fun whatever the weather.

みなさんこんにちは。

お元気ですか？皆さんご存知のように今週末、HARIOイングリッシュキャンプが行われます去年、私の発案で初めてのイングリッシュキャンプを行いました。スタッフも生徒さん達も私の意見に賛同してくれてとてもいい時間が過ごすことができました。その大成功したイングリッシュキャンプが今年も開催されるわけです今年はさらに良いものになると思います。今回は富士宮にある朝霧野外活動センターにて行われ、さらに今回はテントに宿泊する予定です。さらに、薪を切ったり、その薪で火をおこし料理をし、さらにはキャンプファイアーをしながら歌ったりと今回は本当の”キャンプ”を体験する事ができると思いますもちろんイングリッシュキャンプなので生徒さん達は教室の外で私達が用意してあるアクティビティを通して英語を学ぶ事ができ、さらには新しい友達ができると思います。本当に楽しみです

キャンプ初日は午前中、雨が降る可能性がありますでも心配なさらないで下さい。雨の場合のプランも用意してあります。そしてほとんどのアクティビティが室内でもできるものです。万一の場合に備えて、いくつか予備のアクティビティも用意してあります今回のセンターには沢山の室内スペースもあり、さらに今回の利用者はHARIOのみという事です。もし、小雨の場合は野外でのアクティビティを行う予定です。先月、日本平桜マラソンに出場した時も雨が降っており、少しばかり濡れましたがいい時間を過ごせました。私の出身国、イギリスはいつも天気が悪い事で有名です。その為、悪天候でもうまく活用できる術を知っています。なので雨が降っても心配なさらないで下さい天候がどうであれ、楽しいキャンプになるのは間違いありません
