Japan are out! 日本の敗退

Hello everyone,

As you may have heard by now, Japan are out of the World Cup. It`s sad to see them knocked out as there was a lot of hype behind the whole team this year. It was a tough group and I think Japan, Greece and Ivory Coast were all quite evenly matched, so it could have gone either way for any of the teams. The strongest team in the group was clearly Colombia, who won every game in the group. They defeated Japan 4-1 this morning. It looks like a heavy defeat on paper but the game could have gone either way at first. Japan had more chances at the start of the game and they equalized in the 45th minute. But Colombia made the most of all of their chances and scored 4 goals from only 4 shots on target. Japan on the other hand took 24 shots during the course of the match. A world cup record was broken as Colombia`s substitute goalkeeper became the oldest player in a World cup at 43 years old!

There was drama elsewhere this morning as Italy took on Uruguay for a place in the next round. Uruguay`s ace striker Luis Suarez appeared to bite Italian Chiellini. It`s the third time Suarez has bitten another player in a football game. He should keep his teeth to himself! We have to wait and see if he will face any disciplinary action or be allowed to continue his World Cup.

こんにちは、みなさん。もう既にご存知かと思いますが、日本がワールドカップで敗退してしまいました。今回のチームは期待が大きかっただけに本当に残念です

とても難しいグループでしたから日本、ギリシャ、コートジボワールは力が均衡しており、どのチームが決勝トーナメントにおかしくはなかったと思います。グループの中では実際3勝をあげたコロンビアが間違いなく一番強かったですね

今朝のゲームで彼らは日本を4-1で下しました。結果的には大敗という感じですが試合開始後はどちらが勝ってもおかしくないという感じでした。日本の方が沢山チャンスを作っていましたし、前半は均衡が保たれていました。しかしコロンビアは少ないチャンスを確実にものにし、ゴール枠に飛んだシュート4本をすべてゴールに結びつけましたそしてある記録も新たに破られました。それはコロンビアの控えゴールキーパーです。彼は43歳という年齢で出場し、最年長出場記録を更新したのです
