Can Japan do it? 日本は勝ち残れるか?

Hello everyone,

I hope you`re enjoying the World Cup so far, despite Japan`s disappointing result. Many hearts were broken here on Sunday morning when the Ivory Coast scored two goals in as many minutes to beat the blue samurai. Japan had an early lead thanks to a brilliant goal from Honda, but the Ivory Coast always looked dangerous and took the chances they got to score. Next up for Japan are Colombia and Greece. Neither team are a pushover, but Colombia look like the strongest team in the group. Hopefully Japan can get a draw from their clash with Colombia, and beat Greece to be in with a chance of qualifying for the next round. Good luck Japan, it`s not over yet!

Today marks the one week birthday of my daughter Midoriko. My wife and daughter came home from the hospital yesterday and it`s great to finally welcome them home. She`s a happy baby, who`s hobbies include sleeping, drinking milk, smiling and being cute. Here she is smiling for the camera.

日本の結果は残念でしたが、みなさんがワールドカップを楽しんでいることを願います。

日曜の朝、コートジボワールが2得点を決め、青い侍たちを負かしたとき、多くの人の心が折れてしまいました。日本は、本田のすばらしいゴールのおかげで、最初はリードしていましたが、コートジボワールはずっと得点の機会をうかがっているようで、危険に見えました。次の対戦相手はギリシャとコロンビアです。どちらも簡単に勝てるチームではありません。コロンビアこのグループの中では一番の強敵のようです。願わくば、コロンビア戦で引き分け、そしてギリシャに勝ち、トーナメントに進出できるチャンスを得てほしいと思います。頑張れ、日本。まだ終わってないぞ。
