Celebrations!　たくさんのお祝い！

Hello everyone,

How are things with you at the moment? On Monday it was my birthday. The staff here at Hario English School were very kind and had a small party at the start of work. I got some very nice presents from everyone. Thank you, I really appreciate it. Also, to celebrate I had a karaoke party last weekend. It was very fun. You can read about that on Yuka’s post earlier this week. That was one celebration from this week.

Another celebration will start tomorrow. The FIFA World Cup 2104 begins tomorrow in Brazil. I wrote about that last week. I’m really excited about it. Come on England! Come on Japan! Come on Ireland! Oh wait! Ireland didn’t qualify. Nevermind!

By far the biggest cause for celebration this week is the news that Alan and his wife had their first child. Their daughter, Midoriko, was born yesterday and we at Hario English School couldn’t be happier for Alan and his family. Congratulations to them. Alan, like me, teaches a wide age range here, from 2 year-old pre-schoolers to kindergarten, elementary school, junior high school, high school and adult classes. I hope he finds this useful experience as Midoriko grows up. I look forward to meeting her soon.

みなさん、こんにちは。

最近はいかがお過ごしですか。月曜日は私の誕生日でした。ここ、HARIO のスタッフはとても親切で仕事の始まりに小さなパーティーをひらいてくれました。みなさんからとてもステキなプレゼントをいただきました。ありがとう、本当に感謝します。また、先週末はカラオケパーティでのお祝いもありました。とても楽しかったです。それについては今週初めのユウカの投稿で読むことができます。今週のお祝いの一つでした。

また別のお祝いが明日からスタートしますね。FIFAワールドカップ2014が明日ブラジルで始まります。先週、私は本当にわくわくしていると書きました。頑張れ、イングランド！頑張れ、ジャパン！頑張れ、アイルランド！あっ、アイルランドは参加資格がないんでした、失礼！

それよりもはるかに大きな今週のお祝いは、アランと彼の奥さんに初めてのお子さんが生まれたというニュースです。彼らの娘さん、「みどりこ」ちゃんは昨日誕生し、私たちHARIOイングリッシュスクールは非常に幸せな気持ちになりました。おめでとう。アランも私と同じように、2歳児から幼稚園児、小学生、中学生、高校生、大人まで、幅広い年齢層を担当しています。このことが、みどりこちゃんを育てることに役立つ経験となることを願います。彼女に早く会えるのを楽しみにしています。
