Hario camp 2014 ハリオキャンプ２０１４

Hello everyone,

If you read this blog, you have probably heard about Hario camp that took place last weekend. I`m happy to say it was a great success! Lake Tanuki was a beautiful setting to have our first camping trip. On Saturday it was cloudy and cool, which was a good thing because we dove right into the fun and games as soon as our students arrived, and everyone warmed up quickly. In fact, the fun activities never stopped until we left the next day. There was a great scavenger hunt, which took us on a nice walk around Lake Tanuki. The walk around the lake was so serene and leisurely, I almost forgot we were supposed to look for things! Back at the camp site we made dinner with help from the kids. Delicious barbequed hot dogs,　baked potatoes and banana boats. Some of the students tries baked beans for the first time, and the general concensus was good, we got a few thumbs up. If you have never tries baked beans have a look for them in Kaldi in Aeon. They go great with baked potatoes, toast, or just on their own. We finished off the day with more games and then went to bed at 10pm. I was a bit apprehensive of going to bed at 10pm, as I usually go to bed later, but I was so exhausted by the end of the day I fell asleep pretty quickly. I was so tired I missed the rising sun at 4:30am. Oops, I guess I`m not a morning person! Next morning we had a big fried Irish breakfast of scrambled egg, toast, bacon, sausages and mushrooms, delicious. After breakfast was my favourite part of the trip, the wide game. The students got to meet all their favourite Mario characters, Hario, Luigi, Princess, Toad, Yoshi and the evil Bowser (Koopa). There was a great storyline and dramatic scenes as Hario defeated Bowser with the help of the kids and saved the Princess.

Then it was time for home and a well earned rest for everyone. The students all told us they had a great time and I`m sure they will cherish the memories forever. I will too, watch out for more in the future!

このブログをお読みの方々は、先週おこなわれたHARIOイングリッシュキャンプのことをもうすでにご存じだと思います。

キャンプは大成功だったので、とても嬉しいです。

田貫湖は私たちの初めてのキャンプにもってこいの場所でした。

土曜日は曇っていて涼しかったです。生徒たちが到着するとすぐに楽しいゲームが始まり、すぐ体があつくなったので、この気候はとてもよかったです。楽しいゲームはキャンプが終わるまで続きました。スカベンジャーハントで田貫湖を一周歩きました。とても穏やかにゆっくり田貫湖畔を散歩することが出来ました。リストに書かれたものを見つけなければいけない、という課題を忘れてしまいそうになるほどでした。

キャンプサイトに戻ると、子供たちにも手伝ってもらい、ホットドッグ、ポテト、バナナボートなど夕飯を作りました。何人かの生徒たちは初めてベイクドビーンズを食べましたが、おいしいという感想でした!

もし、まだベイクドビーンズを食べたことがなければ、カルディで探してみてくださいね。ポテトにもトーストにもよく合います。そのままでもいけますよ!

そのほかにもいくつかのゲームをし、10時就寝でした。私は普段はもっと遅く寝ますが、その日はとても疲れていたので、すぐに眠ってしまいました。とても疲れていたので、4：30の日の出をのがしてしまいました。ああ。私は朝型ではないのですね。

次の朝、私たちはアイリッシュブレックファスト（スクランブルエッグ、トースト、ベーコン、ソーセージ、マッシュルーム）を食べました。これもとても美味しかったです。朝食の後にまたゲームをしました。このゲームが私がとても楽しかった内のひとつなのですが、生徒たちはまずマリオのキャラクターたちに会いました。HARIO、ルイージ、ヨッシー、きのこ、ピーチ姫・・・、そして悪役のクッパ。
