I hope you’re having a good week. Hario’s spring campaign continues this and next month. We have met lots of new trial students. It’s lovely meeting new students, getting to know them and sharing our enthusiasm for learning English.
We teach kindergarten classes at Hario, from age 2 and a half upwards. It’s very fun to teach students that age. They are full of energy, enthusiasm and potential. Their brains are like sponges and are fast learners. Students that age can sometimes find it difficult to start the class if they are tired, nervous or sleepy. They have to learn how to behave in a classroom and to concentrate for 40 minutes. That’s a big challenge for that age and it takes time and practice. Everyone gets there in the end, but to help make that process smoother, I have two kindergarten assistants. Their names are Mike and Lotso. You may recognise them from the movies Monsters Inc. and Toy Story 3. Mike is shaped like a ball with arms and legs and loves to be thrown and caught. He is much easier to catch than a regular ball because he has arms and legs and is soft. He was helpful yesterday getting my class of 2 and 3 year olds to settle their nerves and participate in the class. Good job, Mike! Lotso is a big bear and likes to be hugged. The other week, a young student of mine was reluctant to enter the classroom and wanted a hug from her mother. Lotso helped her by giving her a hug and she relaxed and was able to join the class by herself. Good job, Lotso! My two teaching assistants prove themselves useful frequently. I appreciate their help.
If you’d like to meet Mike or Lotso, come and try my class!

Kevin
