Hello everyone,

I hope you have had a good week! I especially hope every contestant for the upcoming speech contest is practicing hard! It’s going to be a special day and maybe you will work hard enough o impress the judges and win a prize!

This past weekend we took a trip to Hakone for Mayu’s birthday. It was beautiful! Even though it is the middle of November the weather was very warm there, we were even sweating in our t-shirts! We walked through the trails of the huge cedar trees and I even tried (but failed) to climb one. We also rented a paddle boat that looked like a giant swan in order to get a better look at the lakeside Hakone shrine.

The next day we walked through the golden wheat field trail, luckily I was tall enough to see over the wheat so we didn’t get lost! Then we were able to spend the afternoon at the Venetian Glasswork Gardens which were very lovely. After some pizza and nice coffee we headed back to Fuji after 2 busy days.

Next up is the Speech Contest so good luck to all and I will see you on Saturday!

みなさんこんにちは、マットです。

みなさん良い一週間をお過ごしですか。特にコンテスタントに出場するみなさんは、来るスピーチコンテストに向けて練習を頑張ってくれているかと思います。きっと特別な日になりますよそして皆さん審査員をあっと言わせ、賞をとるために頑張ってくれる事でしょう

この週末わたしたちは箱根へマユの誕生日を祝うために旅行へ行きました。とても美しい所でした。11月の半ばにも関わらず、天気はとても暖かく、Ｔシャツに汗をかいてしまいました！

シダの間の道を散歩し、その木に登ろうとさえしました。(失敗してしまいましたが)。また、箱根神社を湖側からより良い眺めで見るために、巨大な白鳥の形をした足こぎボートを借りもしました。

次の日には麦畑を歩き、ラッキーなことにわたしは背が高いため、麦越しに眺めることができたので迷うことはありませんでした！

それから午後をとても可愛らしいベネチアンガラス美術館で過ごしました。ピザと美味しいコーヒーを食べたあと、二日間の忙しい日を終え富士へと帰りました。

次はスピーチコンテストですね。みなさん頑張ってください。土曜日に会いましょう
