I hope you’re all doing well and that nothing at your house broke during the storm 🌪

I’ve been trying to learn more Japanese, and last week I learned how to call for a taxi in Japanese 🚕

I learned it just in time to get a ride before the storm came ⏱

 

In my neighborhood, the weather got so bad just before the storm came.

It was raining cats and dogs 💦🐱🐶

 

This is an English expression that means it was raining heavily☔️

 

Some people think the phrase comes from old homes where cats would hide in the roof until a heavy rain came. Then, they would fall out or run away from the weather

 

Actually, the origin of this phrase is unknown❓❔but it’s still fairly common today💬

今週は大きな台風がきました。皆さん、大丈夫でしたか。

私は日ごろから、多くの日本語を覚えようとしています。そして先週、私は日本でのタクシーの呼び方を学びました。

台風が来る前にタクシーの乗り方を学んでおいて正解でした。実際にタクシーにのらなければならなかったからです。

私の近所は台風の来る前、非常に天気が悪かったです。

まさに「raining cats and dogs」でした。

 

これは英語の一つの言い回しで、ひどい雨降りだという意味です。

このフレーズは大雨が来た時に猫が屋根に隠れるような古い家に由来しているという人がいます。

それから猫たちは落っこちるか、天気から逃れます.

実際のところこの言い回しの期限はわかっていません。しかし今でもとても有名です。
