Hello everyone,

It’s almost here! This Saturday is the biggest event of the year for us: Hario Speech Contest 2018. There are only four days to go until the big event, so we are all busy preparing for it. Our students are practicing hard at perfecting their speeches. There is always room for improvement, so our students are putting a lot of effort in. We are very proud of all of the hard work they have done. We also thank the parents for supporting their children in the speech homework. Aside from the speech contest, they are performing the speech in class during parent’s day. I’m so happy when a parent is proud of their child’s speech. It takes so much dedication to remember so much that goes into a speech. Not just the words, but the pronunciation of every word, intonation, gestures, posture, head movement, volume, enthusiasm, smiling and facial expressions. There’s so much more to learn than the words of a speech. Good luck to all of you. We hope you enjoy the show on Saturday. Apart from the speeches, we will have the 10th rank activity. This will have two separate performances for the first time ever. I hope can impress with their singing and acting skills. This is the final week of the rehearsals, so good luck! We also have some cool videos to show you. The contest will end with a prize giving ceremony where one student in each category has the chance to win a ticket to Disneyland. Every speech contest needs judges to pick a winner. This year we will have three special guests on the judging panel. One of them is a familiar face here at Hario, and I’m sure the kids will be delighted to see him!

So that is what’s in store for this year’s contest. I hope students and their families enjoy the show. Let’s make this the best speech contest yet!

みなさんこんにちは、アランです。

もうまもなく本番です！今週の土曜日はわたしたちにとって年に1度のビッグイベント、HARIOスピーチコンテスト2018があります

本番までもう残り4日しかありません。そのため生徒たちは本番に備えています。みなさんスピーチ完璧にするべくたくさん練習しています。いつでも改善の余地はあるものです。なので、生徒たちはとても努力しています。彼等のこれまでの頑張りをとても誇りに思います。まだ保護者の皆様にも、スピーチホームワークにおいて、お子様をサポートして下さり感謝していますスピーチコンテストを抜きにしても、授業参観の際、みなさんクラスでスピーチの発表を行っています。保護者の皆様がお子様のスピーチを誇らしく思って下り、とても嬉しく思います。スピーチの内容をあんなにたくさん覚えるには大変な努力が必要です。言葉だけではなく、それぞれの発音、抑揚、身振り、姿勢、頭の動き、音量、熱意、笑顔、それから表情も。スピーチの言葉よりももっとたくさん覚えることがあります。みなさん頑張ってください土曜日にみなさんが発表を楽しんでくださればいいなと思います。スピーチ以外に、10級のアクティビティもあります。はじめてこれを2回の発表に分けました。歌と踊りで圧倒できたらなと思います。今週がリハーサルのできる最後の週です。なので幸運を祈ります！また、みなさんにおみせする素敵なムービーも用意しています。コンテストの終わりには表彰があり、そこで各部門の生徒一人にはディズニーランドチケットを獲得するチャンスがあります優勝者を選ぶために毎年スピーチコンテストには審判が必要です。今年は審査員席に3人の特別ゲストをお招きしています。そのうちの一人はHARIOでは有名人です。きっと子供たちは会って喜ぶでしょう
