Favorite subjects at school　　好きな教科

Hello everyone.

In class, many of you have told me your favorite school subjects. Of course, English is very popular with everyone here! Also, many of our students like home ec, and history. Less people seem to like math, and a few people seem not to like math at all, which is rare for most other subjects. I hope everyone is still studying hard at math as well as English anyways!

As many of you know, my favorite subject is biology. When I was in elementary school, I loved reading science fiction novels (and I still do!), so I started studying science. Biology became my favorite subject because it is so massive in scale. In high school, it is often taught as a single subject, but in the real world, biology is made up of hundreds of completely different and complex subjects like genetics, physiology, cell signaling, ecology, evolution, biochemistry, and industrial microbiology to name just a few.

Studying biology is another one of my favorite things. Why do you like your own favorite subject? Thanks for reading.

クラスで生徒達が好きな学校の教科を教えてくれました。もちろん英語はHARIO生にとても人気の教科ですが・・

生徒の多くは家庭科や歴史がすきなようです。

数学を好きな人の方が少ないようで、他の教科に比べて好きな人は珍しいです。

とはいえみなさんが英語と同じくらい数学も一生懸命勉強してくれていたらと思います！

皆さんが知っているように、私のすきな科目は生物学です。私が小学生の時、サイエンスフィクション小説を読むのが大好きでした。(今でもそうです！)なので化学を勉強し始めました。生物学はとても壮大なスケールなので、私のお気に入り科目になりました。高校では単一の教科として教えられます。しかし実際の世界では生物学は何百もの全く異なる複雑な教科でできています。たとえば遺伝子学、心理学、細胞伝達、環境学、進化論、生物化学、そして産業ミクロ生物学はそのほんの一部です。
