Hello Everyone!

It’s now June and in Japan it’s time for the rainy season. I enjoy the spring and summer months as you can do outdoor activities such as sports, camping and hiking and rain ruins all three! Even though rain can be annoying it can still be enjoyable. I want to talk about a few things that I enjoy doing on rainy days.

As some of you may know, I enjoy cycling and commute to HARIO by bicycle. Cycling in the rain is actually fun! If you have proper clothing, the rain won’t bother you and it is fun to ride through big puddles and get messy. Just make sure you leave a lot of space between yourself and other bikes or vehicles as your brakes don’t work as well in the rain.

I am also a big fan of movies and recently I purchased a small projector for the living room. Rainy days are perfect for having movie nights! There’s nothing better than turning off all the lights, making some popcorn and putting on a big, loud intense film. I’m a big fan of science fiction movies!

The sound of rain is also quite relaxing. If you are lucky enough to have a balcony that can shelter you from getting wet then you can relax outside with a good book and listen to the raindrops fall.

What do you like about rainy days? Do you go outside to get wet and messy or do you stay warm and dry indoors with your favourite book, television show or video games?

もう6月です。日本は梅雨の時期ですね。私は春や夏のように外でスポーツやキャンプ、ハイキングなどの活動ができる月が好きですが雨はそれら三つ全部だめにしてしまいます！雨はうっとうしいかもしれませんが、まだ楽しむ余地はあるはずです。雨の日の楽しみ方をいくつかお話したいと思います。

ご存知の人もいるかもしれませんが、私はサイクリングが好きで自転車でハリオに通勤しています。雨の中のサイクリングは実に楽しいです！雨にそなえた服装をしていれば雨は邪魔になりませんし、大きな水たまりを駆け抜け、汚れるのは楽しいです。ただ、雨の日はブレーキが利かないので、他の自転車や車との距離が十分にあるか確認してください。
