Hello everyone,

I hope you aren’t suffering too much in the summer heat this week. It’s the last day of July, so we are at the height of summer now. Once August is over, we can expect the weather to start cooling down. For now, we will stay in air-conditioned rooms as much as possible. My daughter’s kindergarten has a good idea during the summer months. They can cool down in a paddling pool every day. We never had that in Ireland. But then again it’s rarely ever hot enough there. Recently, however, Ireland had a record-breaking heatwave, with no rain for three weeks! People were enjoying the unusual summer weather there. My parents told me that it has just finished, and now it’s cool and rainy again.

Our students are on their summer vacation now. I was surprised when I found out that it’s only one month long here. In Ireland it’s two or three months long, plus there’s no homework or club activity to do! My students are jealous of Irish school life when I tell them. They still have to get up at 6AM to go to their school club or do their homework. When I think back to my summer vacations in Ireland it was quite boring however. When I was 16 I got a job in a supermarket one summer. That was hard work, but I was glad to make some money for myself. I spent it on video games of course! During High School vacation in Ireland I often had summer study courses to help with my studies. We provide summer lessons here at Hario too. Our students are making the most of their free time to catch up on their English. As well as the morning grammar classes, students can sign up from private conversation lessons with us too. みなさんこんにちは。

みなさんが今週暑さに苦しみすぎてなければと思います。もう今日は７月の最後の日です。

なので今は夏の真っ只中にいるわけです

一旦８月が終われば気温が下がるだろうと思います。今はできる限りエアコンの効いた部屋で過ごしましょう

私の娘の幼稚園では夏の期間中良いアイデアを思いつきました彼らは毎日プールでバタバタしてクールダウンすることができるのです。アイルランドではそのようなことをしたことがありません。しかし、前にも言いましたがアイルランドはめったにそれほど熱くはなりません。

ですが最近アイルランドで雨が３週間も降らず記録的な熱波がありました人びとはいつもと違った夏の気候を楽しみました両親はもうそれも終わり、涼しくてまた雨が降っていると言っていました。

生徒たちは今夏休み中ですね日本では夏休みがたったの一ヶ月だと知って驚きました

アイルランドでは２～３ヶ月間で、しかもやらなければならない宿題や部活はありません

このことを生徒に教えたところアイルランドの学校生活を羨ましがっていました

生徒たちはそれだけでなく朝６時に起きて学校へ行ったり、宿題をしなければなりません。

ですが私のアイルランドでの夏休みを思い返すととてもつまらないものでした。

１６歳の時ある夏にスーパーマーケットでアルバイトをしました。大変な仕事でしたが自分のためにお金を稼ぐのは嬉しいことでした

もちろんゲームをして過ごしたりもしました！

アイルランドでの高校の夏休みには補習のためによく学校へ夏期講習に行きました。

HARIOでも夏期講習を行っています。生徒たちは自由時間のほとんどを英語についてくために使っています。
