Hey, so rainy season has officially started in Japan and also it has started to become more humid. I have lived in Japan for nearly four years now and I still can’t get used to the humidy in Japan. In most parts of Japan, the rainy season will last from the beginning of June to mid July. However I heard that in Okinawa the rainy season tends to start a month earlier and if you live in Hokkaido or the Ogasawara Islands then you tend to get a little less wet during the rainy season.

Being from the UK, I am pretty used to rain and in fact I actually like the rain. In the UK most people tend to walk around without an umbrella, even when it is raining. However in Japan, people seem to suddenly spawn umbrellas at the drop of rain. Since I have lived in Japan, I have lost (someone stole) thirteen umbrellas. I was told by someone that if you have a cheap looking umbrella then it will most likely be taken by someone during the rainy season. As everyone seems to just take or borrow someone else’s umbrella. During the rainy season, I like to visit temples and gardens as they are often quieter during this time.

日本は梅雨入りして、最近は湿度が高くなってきました。もうすぐ日本に住み始めて４年になりますが、この季節には慣れません。

日本中が6月の初めから７月中旬まで梅雨のなりますが、沖縄は時期が少し早く、北海道や小笠原諸島などでは、梅雨がないと聞きました。

UKでは、雨が多くふるので私は雨に慣れていますし、雨がすきです。UKでは、雨でも皆、傘をさしません。日本では雨が降り始めると皆が傘をさし始めます。日本に住んで以来、私は１３本の傘をなくしました。（又は盗まれた）梅雨の季節、安い傘は盗まれやすいと友人から聞きました。梅雨の季節、私は寺や庭園など静かな場所に行くのがすきです。
