Hello everyone!

Winter is still here and it’s a little chilly outside though I’m seeing more and more flowers starting to blossom. Spring will come soon enough!

When we were back home in Canada for the holidays we were given a Canadian winter treat, fudge! Fudge is made from sugar, butter and milk. It’s not too difficult to make and you can add so many things to it to get different varieties. For example, the fudge we were given as gifts were Cinnamon flavour, Coffee and Hazelnut and Wasabi! Some of our students visited Canada last year and brought back some maple syrup flavoured fudge, a classic sweet.

One day I would like to try making my own fudge but I have never been good at making desserts. Maybe there are more Japanese flavours to add to some fudge? How about an Okinawa chinsuko fudge? Macha fudge? Anko fudge? Sweet potato fudge? So many things to try out one day.

What kind of fudge would you make? Let me know!

みなさん、こんにちは。マットです。

まだ毎日寒いですね。それでも少しずつ花が咲き始めています。春はもうすぐです。

冬休みにカナダに帰ったとき、fudge（ファッジ）というカナダの冬に食べるお菓子をもらいました。

ファッジは、砂糖、バター、牛乳で作られていて、作るのはそんなに難しくはありません。

中に色んなものを入れて、色んな種類のファッジを作れます。たとえば、我々がもらったのは、シナモン、コーヒー

ヘーゼルナッツ、わさびが入っていました。去年、カナダにホームステイにいった生徒がお土産にもってきてくれたファッジは、メープルシロップ味の昔なつかしいファッジでした。

私はこのファッジを自分で作ってみたいのです。これまでデザートは上手くできたことがありません。

もっと日本のものを入れたらいいかなと思います。沖縄のちんすこう味のファッジとか、抹茶あじとか、あんことか？

さつまいもとか・・・うーん。つくってみたいです。
