I hope you all had a good Golden Week ⭐️

I didn’t have many travel plans because I knew the trains would be packed…

but then my wife fell and hurt her ankle, so we definitely couldn’t go anywhere 🤕

I don’t mind kicking back at home though 🛀

 

We ended up playing video games and watching YouTube videos 🖥

I actually watched a lot of YouTube videos and kind of went down the rabbit hole

 

Then I ended up seeing a number of videos about which toys kids are interested in in the US this year. When I saw that some of the toys had a fake tattoo as a kind of bonus gift, I wondered “Have Japanese people seen those?”

 

I know tattoos mean different things in different cultures, so I guess it wouldn’t be popular for children to wear these temporary tattoos in Japan. In the US, these vending machines are commonly found at the front of the grocery store and might have designs of animals, cartoon characters, or super heroes.

So have you ever heard of this?

みなさん、こんにちは。

GWはいかがでしたか。

私は旅行にはいきませんでした。交通機関はきっと混んでいるだろうと思ったからです。

しかも、私の妻（１月に結婚しました）がころんで足を怪我して歩けない状態でもあったからです。

私はkicking back（のんびりする）休日でもかまいません。

ゲームをやったり、ユーチューブをみたりしてすごしました。

休み中はユーチューブを見すぎて went down the rabbit hole（未知の世界にいる）感覚になりました。

 

最終的に、アメリカではやっているおもちゃについてのムービー動画にたどり着きました。

そのおもちゃには、おまけでタトゥーのシールがついているそうです。

日本ではそういうおもちゃは売っていないですよね。

 

タトゥーについては、国によって色んな考え方があります。

なので日本では、子どもがタトゥーのシールを身に着けるのは流行ってはいないと思います。

アメリカでは、このようなタトゥーシールの自動販売機がスーパーなどにおいてあります。

タトゥーのデザインも動物、アニメのキャラクター、ヒーローものまで様々です。

皆さんは、このことをご存知でしたか。

そしてこのような文化をどう思いますか。
