A Day in Mishima

Hello everyone,

Last weekend we were able to take a day trip to Mishima! Now this wasn’t a long trip to a faraway place or somewhere that you would think is extremely exciting but it was a fantastic day!

After a peaceful drive over to Mishima we first stopped at the famous Ryutakuji Temple. The temple grounds were surrounded by beautiful gardens, trails and even a deer enclosure. On one of the many trails we walked around on we were able to see many pools of water where underground streams come up to the surface. It was very interesting to read about this cycle of water going from rain to mountain streams then underground then back to the rivers and into rain again! Nature is pretty wonderful isn’t it?

We also took a walk along the city river across stones steps that made it look like you were walking on water! The water was very cool and refreshing and we were able to meet a local celebrity, Tono the duck! After some shopping and lunch we headed back to Fuji before dark. It was another great day trip in Japan with the family and I am very thankful to have been able to be a part of it.

みなさんこんにちは。

先週末わたしたちは三島へ日帰り旅行に行くことができました！そんなに遠くもなく、すごくワクワクするような場所への長期旅行ではありませんでしたが、すばらしい一日でした！

穏やかな三島へのドライブののち、まずは有名な龍澤寺に立ち寄りました。その寺は美しい庭や小道、鹿の囲いに囲まれてさえいました。

私達が散歩をしていた小道の一つでは、地価の流水が地表へ飛び出し水たまりがたくさんできているのを見る事ができました。

この水の循環について読み、非常に興味深かったです。雨から山の小川に入り、地下へ行き、それから川に戻り、また雨に戻ります！

自然はとてもすばらしいです。そう思いませんか？

また、町の川沿いを歩き、石をジャンプして渡りました。まるで水の上を歩いているように見えました。水はとても冷たく、リフレッシュさせてくれました。そして地元の有名人に会う事ができました。殿、というアヒルです買い物とランチをしたあと、暗くなる前に富士へと帰りました。また一つ、すばらしい思い出ができました。
